

Silicon-manganese spring steel with high yield strength, excellent fatigue resistance and good toughness. Exhibits good resilience and ability to withstand repeated stress and shock loading. Suitable for heat treatment to achieve high hardness and strength.
Widely used for leaf springs, coil springs, washers, and suspension components. Suitable for automotive, railway and heavy engineering applications requiring high fatigue strength and elasticity.

Annealing: 650–700°C, furnace cooling.
Hardening: 830–870°C, oil quenching.
Tempering: 400–600°C depending on required spring properties.
Provides high strength, elasticity and fatigue resistance.
Supplied in Annealed or Hardened & Tempered condition.
Typical hardness (spring condition): 44–52 HRC.
