DIN 1.2367 ESR (X38CrMoV5-3) is a premium hot work tool steel widely used in die casting, forging and extrusion applications due to its excellent toughness and thermal fatigue resistance.
Excellent resistance to thermal fatigue and heat checking under cyclic heating and cooling. High toughness and impact strength, suitable for medium to heavy hot-work applications. Excellent temper resistance, maintaining hardness during service at elevated temperatures.
High-pressure die-casting dies and inserts, particularly for aluminium alloys. Hot forging dies and press tools. Extrusion tooling such as dies, mandrels and liners. Hot work punches, cores and ejector components. Shear blades and hot cutting tools operating at elevated temperatures.

ESR Annealed (+A): Hardness ≤ 235 HB.
ESR condition ensures extremely low non-metallic inclusions and uniform carbide distribution,
reducing segregation and improving fatigue life and die service life.

Delivered: Effective thickness of 50mm per hour
Air-cooled furnace cooling to 400℃
