DIN 1.2379 Cold Work Tool Steel Bharat Special Steel

Characteristics

High hardenability, hardness and wear resistance, with good high-temperature oxidation resistance. Maintains excellent wear resistance after quenching and polishing, with minimal deformation after heat treatment.

Applications

Used for manufacturing high-precision, long-life cold moulds, tools and gauges. Suitable for complex shapes such as punching dies, cold extrusion dies, glass moulds, thread-rolling wheels, stretch plates, cold-cutting tools and precision measuring instruments.

Supply Condition

General Annealed: Hardness ≤ 255 HB
Spheroidized Annealed: Hardness ≤ 255 HB
Superfine Annealed: Hardness ≤ 255 HB

Heat Treatment

Soft Annealing

Temperature: 820–850℃
Delivered: Effective thickness of 30mm per hour
Air-cooled furnace cooling to 400℃

Spheroidizing Annealing

Temperature: 860–880℃
Delivered: Effective thickness of 30mm per hour
Furnace cooling to 760–780℃ isothermal
Air-cooled furnace cooling to 400℃
Furnace cooling to 400℃ baked cooled

Superfine Annealing

Microstructure meets criteria SEP1614.
According to SEP1520 standard:
Eutectic carbides ≤ level 2
Carbides ≤ level 2
Carbide particle size ≤ 2 μm
